Privacy Policy

Effective: October 21, 2026 · WildFeed. The short version: we collect what the product needs, we don't sell it, and your exact location is never part of the deal.

What we collect

Account: email, username, display name (Google sign-in shares your name, email, and avatar). Usage: which streams you watch and for how long — this powers your personalized feed and our own count of returning viewers. If you’re signed in, views are tied to your account; if not, to a random first-party cookie ID (no name, no email, expires after a year). Only WildFeed staff see this, never other users. Alert preferences: if you choose location-based go-live alerts, we store only a coarse point (rounded to about ~8 miles) for “near me” and any saved places you name, plus any states you pick. We never store your precise location for alerts, we use it only to decide which go-live alerts to send you, and you can switch back to Anywhere at any time, which clears it. Content: your streams, recordings, chat messages, gear listings, and reports you file. Posts: photos and short videos you post to your profile, with their captions. They’re public on your profile until you delete them. We strip location and camera data (EXIF) from photos when the app shrinks them before upload, photos are stored with Supabase and videos with Cloudflare Stream, and deleting a post deletes its file. Stream recordings and replays are kept for 14 days and then deleted automatically, unless you save them with Archive or they’re picked as a highlight. Scheduled sits: if you host or back up a scheduled sit, the setup photos and scout notes you submit the night before. They’re private: only WildFeed staff see them, to confirm the sit and review it, and we delete them within 90 days of the sit. Contests: if you enter a WildFeed contest (like the November rut contest), we keep what you give us to check you’re hunting legally and safely: your state, weapon type, confirmation that staff saw your hunting license and tags, written landowner permission, harness use and fair-chase pledge, the rough area of your stand (rounded to about ~8 miles, only to work out legal shooting light), your trial stream and its scores, night-before setup proof, and ID verification before any payout. While a contest runs we also note, minute by minute, which anonymous viewer sessions are watching each entrant (with a one-way scrambled form of the viewer’s IP address, never the address itself, and whether the request looks automated, to filter out bots and self-views) and whether the picture changed, and we send occasional still frames from entrants’ live streams to an AI vision service (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI or xAI) to spot wildlife, to score the contest. Only WildFeed staff see any of it; we delete license, landowner and ID details within 90 days after the contest ends, and keep scores and payout records as long as tax law requires. Diagnostics: error reports with browser info. Location: only if you allow it, and only when you go live. Your phone’s reading is snapped to a shared ~8 mile area before it leaves the app, so the exact spot never reaches us at all — we store that area and the county it sits in, nothing finer. Decline and your stream simply has no map pin.

How we use it

To run the service, rank and personalize feeds, pay creators, keep the platform safe and legal, and fix bugs. We do not sell personal information and do not run third-party ad tracking. We use Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, and PostHog for usage analytics and diagnostics. PostHog records session replays with personally identifiable information masked.

Who touches it (processors)

Supabase (database & auth), Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare (video), Google (optional sign-in and Google Analytics for usage analytics), Stripe (payouts), PostHog (analytics and session replay with PII masked), and an email delivery provider. Each receives only what their function requires. Public live streams may also be shown on WildFeed’s own YouTube channel and Facebook Page, with your display name, username, and stream title (YouTube and Meta then handle that copy under their own policies); turn this off in your profile settings. Private content is never sent.

WildFeed Bucks

If you earn Bucks we keep a record of each award (the reason and any linked feedback), your balance history, and any cash-out (amount, payout method and where it was sent). If your awards reach the IRS reporting threshold ($600 in a year) we collect the tax information the law requires, privately and only for tax reporting. Whether an idea of yours shipped may appear as a public badge on your profile; your balance never does.

Ideas board

Ideas, comments and your display name on them are public at /ideas. Your votes are counted publicly but who voted is not shown. To keep the board useful, an automated system (including an AI model) reads feedback, bug reports, Support messages and public live-chat suggestions to sort bugs from ideas; when it finds an idea it posts a reworded summary without personal details, credited to you if you were signed in. The original message stays private to staff. Ask Support to remove an idea or your name from it at any time.

Data sharing

We may share account and usage information with our affiliated companies under common ownership (WildFeed, TrailCamera.ai, and HuntFish.ai) to provide and improve our services and to tell you about our other outdoor apps. We never sell your personal information.

Linked TrailCamera.ai accounts: WildFeed and TrailCamera.ai are affiliated companies under common ownership, and they share account and camera data when you link your accounts. If you link your TrailCamera.ai account in My cams, TrailCamera.ai shares your live-capable cameras with WildFeed (name, model, status, battery and signal, an approximate area, your latest camera photo, which only you see, and the camera’s share setting), and WildFeed tells TrailCamera.ai when you start or stop a camera or change who can watch. The share setting is one setting for both sites. WildFeed stores the access key for your TrailCamera.ai account encrypted on our servers and never sends it to your browser. Unlink any time in My cams or in TrailCamera.ai under Settings → Connected apps. Unlinking or deleting your account revokes it right away. If you join the line to control a trail camera, WildFeed sends TrailCamera.ai a random key for your device (or your linked account) to hold your place in line, never your name or email.

Your controls

Edit profile data in-app. Delete your account yourself at wildfeed.live/delete-account, or request export or deletion at privacy@wildfeed.live — deletion removes personal data within 30 days except records we must keep (payments, legal holds). Chat and streams you shared publicly may persist in others' recordings of the public moment.

Retention & security

Watch-affinity scores decay automatically. Presence heartbeats are deleted within minutes. Error logs are pruned on a rolling basis. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our processors; access is role-restricted.

Children

WildFeed requires users to be 13 or older to create an account (COPPA). Users under 18 may create accounts and livestream with parent or guardian permission, provided they can legally hunt or fish in their jurisdiction. Payouts require 18+ and Stripe identity verification. Users under 13 may appear in a parent's or guardian's stream but may not hold an account. We delete underage accounts on discovery.
